THE BRIEF
THE JOURNEY TO A PREMIUM RETAIL EXPERIENCE
Softening forms and functional materials make up the fresh new look at Car Supermarket, Barnsley, taken from concept to completion by Interact Showrooms.
The brief: Create a modern, welcoming showroom environment that feels fresh, professional and customer focused, while supporting the day-to-day needs of its sales team.
Interact Showrooms answered the call with contemporary finishes, wayfinding curved elements, and robust material choices for a premium retail space that delivers high-end aesthetics with performance and lasting quality.
ABOUT
CONTEMPORARY COLOUR
For the palette, EGGER’s H3349 ST19 Kaisersberg Oak provides a light and lively basis to the scheme. Its linear woodgrain style and uniform colour-play answer the brief for modern minimalism, providing an elegantly neutral canvas to contrast the bold accents in U565 ST9 Ocean Blue. From a spectrum of solid colour in EGGER’s Decorative Collection 26+, Ocean Blue sits at the muted, inky end of the blues palette, providing a sophisticated anchor to the brightness of Kaisersberg Oak and the secondary accent, the cool toned W1000 ST9 Premium White. The result? A fresh, airy scheme that exudes subtle luxury and optimal customer comfort.

ABOUT
CREATIVE CURVATURE
A key element of the interior is the inclusion of curved elements in furniture, an intuitive addition designed to soften the space, guide the customer journey and create a more premium retail environment.
Curved joinery and architectural features require a high level of design accuracy, manufacturing precision and installation care. To achieve it, the Interact design and project team worked closely with the manufacturing partners to ensure each curved section could be produced accurately and to the luxury standard set throughout the interior.
Used for softened corners on desks and counter surfaces, gentle ends on vertical elements, and quirky soft furnishing, the clever use of curves in varied shapes and sizes subtly guides customers through designated pathways for a seamless retail experience.

ABOUT
MATERIALITY
Fundamental to the heavier footfall and increased wear of surfaces in retail spaces, robust and durable materials were fundamental to the success of the project.

EGGER Decorative Boards are used for the bulk of the joinery, offering a versatile material for vertical elements and low to mid traffic horizontal surfaces. Lightfast and resistant to abrasion and scratches, the material offered cost and fabrication efficiency due to optimal board sizes and simplicity of processing, keeping the project on track in time and budget.
Sharing the same resilient properties as its board counterpart, EGGER Laminate is used for higher wear horizontal surfaces such as counter and desktops, and for curved surfaces thanks to its versatile ability to be bonded to radial shape.
With both materials available as part of EGGER’s unique offer as a sole supplier of matching materials manufactured in house, the combination offers Interact optimised value engineering opportunity while keeping design intent intact.
On design completion, precision in installation care by Interact Showroom’s integrated fit-out team meant careful consideration of dimensions, fixing methods and alignments, ensuring the seamless aesthetic was achieved.
Careful consideration was given to dimensions, materials, fixing methods and alignment, ensuring the final installation achieved the seamless appearance required across the showroom and consultation spaces.
